Good news! I have finally gotten my act together and put together a list of the smileys that can be displayed on this blog. If you look to the left of the blog, you should see that there is a new link titled "Smiley Codes (Opens in popup window)" underneath the "About Me" link.
Unfortunately I was unable to put the list of smileys on the page that you go to to type in the comments (Google--grrrr), so it looks like if you want to use smileys you'll have to open the pop up window before clicking on the link that takes you to the page for typing comments. Apologies for the inconvenience.
Note that the smileys do NOT display on the comment form page. You will have to return to the blog post to see how the smileys look.
If your computer is having trouble opening pop up windows, you can click here to view the list of usable smileys. I tried to put the smiley images up as well, but they all just show as little crosses, so it's only the code and the description of the smiley.
Feel free to use the comments section below to test out some smileys.
PS. I have now added a link to smiley codes in the page for typing comments, but said link has to be opened via right click as for some reason the system won't recognize the code for opening the link in a new window.

ReplyDeleteCan't quite grasp this, Soppy. When I click on comments I can't see the smiley pop-up window to click on.Must be missing something. How can I add a smiley if I can't see the window? HELP!!
ReplyDeleteFB--I would suggest opening the smiley pop-up window before going to comments, as there is no way to get to the smiley pop up window once you go into the page to type comments.
ReplyDeleteThe pop up window can be popped up from the left hand side of the page. In the first box on the left "Welcome to The Algy Chronicles", you should see the link for smileys at the bottom of the box. Hope this helps, but let me know if you are having any trouble.
I did try to fix it so that it would pop up from the comments section, but the coding thing won't let me put in the code I want (grrr)
I saw you had put on the comments page to right click to open smileys in a new window, but that didn't work for me - either my browser or my iMac :(

Great! I'm hoping to find some other way of putting up the smileys box, but some code just won't work on the blogger platform...(why, Google, why?)
