Lieutenant Algernon Lacey, of 266 Squadron,
stationed at Maranique, France, acting flight-commander in the absence of
Biggles, his friend and flying partner, landed his Sopwith Camel more carefully
than usual and taxied slowly towards the sheds…He was feeling particularly pleased
with himself, for he had just scored his third victory since Biggles had
departed on leave.
