Read Nervous Flying here.
The
demand for new pilots in late WWI was so high that it was not unusual for
pilots to arrive at a squadron with only ten or fifteen hours of flying
experience. After that, it was mostly a combination of fast-learned skills and
incredible luck that kept them alive. Novice pilots could hardly be blamed for
doing all the wrong things at the wrong time, but as Biggles and Algy are about
to find out, sometimes ignorant pilots are not only a danger to themselves, but
also to others…
Never mind 'Nervous Flying' I think I'm developing 'Nervous Reading'!
ReplyDeleteJust when I think Algy is safe again there he is dangling from his straps upside down in an aeroplane!
Perhaps this blog should really be renamed: '101 Ways To Put Algy In Peril And Terrify His Fans'....
I'm pretty sure we passed the 101 mark several years ago...We're probably closer to 1001 now...:)
