(_____________. <--Algy________________) <-- edge of the hole Algy is in.
I'm thinking it's going to take a while before he can get out, but I'm already writing the next chapter. We may still hope. Algy was always very good at making everything okay...
That looks about right. Ginger at the top shovelling everything onto Algy. I hope WHEN Algy gets out of this he gives Ginger that slap he's been asking for for a long time. (More than one slap).
I'm going to have to beg to differ FB. Let's face it, if instead of acting like Achilles sulking in his tent, Algy had stopped being so self-absorbed and actually bothered to interact with Bertie and Ginger none of this would have happened.
Furthermore, Algy is being a terrible friend to Ginger. Biggles and Algy are his best friends, and probably the closest thing he has to family, and he has been cut off by both of them. In fact the way Algy is treating him, you would think that he didn't see Ginger as a friend at all instead he's someone he tolerated for Biggles' sake.
So if Algy does feel the need to slap Ginger, I hope it is followed up with a heartfelt apology.
Thank goodness for Bertie! So far he's the only one coming out of this story with his reputation more or less intact!
I take your point, PP, but to be honest, Soppy's yarn is a trifle out of the ordinary. Algy may have been sulking but he had a horrible shock, finding out in the middle of the night that he's homeless. But Ginger jumped to totally the wrong conclusions without verifying facts and dashed around like an hysterical teenager, not a mature policeman. I've already said that Bertie comes out of this as cool and calm and the voice of reason, the only one of the four who appears to have kept his head. It's nice, though, to see that Ginger has a champion at last.
Yes, it's nice that we finally have made a Ginger fan speak out!
Did someone say Algy was self-absorbed? *dangerous tone*
As for Bertie, he's not jumping to conclusions, but he's not doing anything else either. I'm wondering if the call from Gaskin has shaken him out of his logical and calm mind at last!
Not sure if Bertie could do anything, unless it's to knock everybody's heads together. He's only seen Ginger's side, so far and even then, he tried to advise caution. He doesn't know that Biggles thinks Algy is a 'traitorous rat'. trouble with Bertie, bless him, is that if he has been shaken out of his calm and logical mind, he's liable to do something outrageous. No doubt, if he is, he'll let you know, Soppy, so you can tell us.
Kidnapping Algy at the moment would be a stroke of genius on Bertie's part. It would a) hide Algy from the police and b) Stop Algy from trying to blow something or somebody up. He could then go and hit Biggles over the head until some sense has been knocked into him.

ReplyDeleteI DO love Algy!!!
ReplyDeleteYou'll give him a shovel to dig himself out of the hole you've put him in then.
ReplyDeleteIt's not a shovel he will need but a ladder!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSorry, SA, you're right again. Soppy has already dug the hole.

Forget my post above. It didn't turn out right but I pressed published by mistake. But you get the idea. Algy's in a deep, deep hole.
ReplyDeleteIf that hole gets any deeper poor Algy will soon be dropping in on Australia..... :)
ReplyDeleteThat will please some of you :-)
ReplyDeleteI should hang on to him - he's probably safer with you...
Something odd has appeared in my last comment - I didn't put it there - or not knowingly!
ReplyDeleteI hope algy likes rain or fires if he ends up in australia....lol it appears to be one or the other at the moment...... ~Gumtree
ReplyDeleteIr's probably not as hot in Australia as it is in London for him at the moment.
ReplyDeleteThe hole is now looking like this:

ReplyDeleteMaybe he'll decide to kidnap Algy himself. Or hit Biggles over the head until he promises to divorce Jane.
