Biggles Media Archives: Modern Day WWI

This week's fantastic video comes from the Historical Aviation Film Unit. Watch contemporary reenactment video footage featuring planes (both British and German) from World War I.

  2. Just watched the second trailer too - and it appears the DVD is for sale BUT I'm sure the DVD format is critical...

Thank you for posting this. New Zealand seems a pretty top place for this sort of thing.

  4. I love that they had so many plane types there. It really is an amazing clip (note to future film makers: THIS is what a Biggles movie looks like, see?)

Don't know about the DVD format; maybe send them an email and ask? I don't think small companies like this would do regions on their DVDs, would they?

I like to imagine it was Algy flying in the Camel. Or Biggles.

  5. As you said... "I like to imagine it was Algy flying in the Camel. Or Biggles"

Yes - a whole new dimension to the Algy Chronicles. Somebody should be making a Biggles and Algy film in time for the centenary of WWI.

  6. Great! Thanks for putting this on here. I particularly liked that the first section opened with film of a Halberstadt and a Phaltz, German aircraft that Biggles flew in Biggles Flies East

  11. Me too. I keep hearing horrible dance tunes among my fellow classmates--mostly with lyrics about doing unspeakable things to other people...What happened to music?
